Christmas doings 2013

At the first of the month we celebrated my mom's 69th birthday! Preformed in a Christmas program, watched my oldest nephew march in his last parade as a high school students. Attended my other nephews' band concerts as well as my sister-in-laws.  We made due and constructed a broken gingerbread house with friends. Wore a ton of Christmas shirts and outfits! Attended birthday parties and dressed like our BFF on pajama day at school. Made cookies for Santa!  It's been pretty exciting around here!

Corn Dip

I had to wrangle this up so I wanted to post it so I could find it in case lost again.

3 cans of mexicorn
3 cups of sharp cheddar shredded cheese (room temperature)
16 ounces of sour cream
1/2 cup mayo
5 chopped green onions (tops too!)
Salt and Pepper to taste

Mix sour cream, mayo, onion, and cheese.
Drain and add corn
Chill over night and serve with corn chips

Christmas 1

Today we spent the day celebrating Christmas with Justin's dad's side of the family! Emma got to play with her sweet cousin Ava! They had a blast enjoying the warm December temperatures!

Emma also had a monumental break through with Uncle Brian, she always flips out around him and avoids him like the plague.  With a little motivation she not only ran up to him to "save her" but also hugged him goodbye with no protest!  I think the world stopped spinning for a half a second!

Dollywood in lights

Thursday Emma and I loaded up and headed to The Forge.  Our first stop was some last minute Christmas shopping from the Disney store and Loft.  Emma wanted to "ride" a few things before we left…

After that we met up with a co-worker and her family to have lunch at Blue Moose and pick out cupcakes at GiGis!  Then we headed to Dollywood.  Emma was so excited to have a friend to ride and play with.  This was the best DW trip by far.  She rode all of the rides in the county fair, even the kid roller coaster!   It was a super fun day and we only had a melt down near the end because of Emma's lack of an afternoon nap! She slept the whole drive home and woke up long enough to get ready for bed!

A few of my favorite ornaments 2013

Some of these are super dark but you get the idea…
I ordered this from Personal Creations, I had received a $15 gift card from them in a catalogue so I ordered this one. The very day I ordered it another blog friend posted a picture of the same ornament!  What a small world it is sometimes!

This one is super dark (sorry!) This is Emma's yearly picture in her Christmas dress.  I really loved getting out each ornament and looking at the past four years!
I think I posted this one last year, but this is Emma's ornament that my college roommate and I made for her last year.  I haven't done this year's yet.  Maybe I will get to it soon!
Disney ornaments, the one with the picture of us has a little Mickey scene on the other side.

This is Emma's thumbprint.  Made at Puggles

Emma's Hallmark ornament.  Fits with Disney and her love of the Clubhouse
They sell these key fobs at Disney, I bought a set and used them as ornaments.  There's about five different ones!
A very blurry Elf on the Shelf ornament.  I finally found one!  I had wanted this one because our elf is a girl!  Emma was super excited to see this and put it on her tree!

Christmas Card 2013

Christmas break is here!  I will now attempt to catch up on somethings!

Here is the Christmas card from the professional photographer.  I had to order another one from Shutterfly, but this is my favorite.  Here is the front:
and the back:

I wanted just normal clothes pictures of all three of us so that's why there is a mix.  I think it's pretty cool!  Plus, I'm glad I have some fantastic family pictures as well as some of Emma in her Christmas dress!

Santa

Saturday was Small Business Saturday, so we ran by our favorite store to catch up with our favorite Santa!  Emma has had a picture with him the past two years and he is my favorite Santa (I know him through teaching!)  Emma was super hype but then her tone changed, but I think she did pretty good considering this is the first year he wasn't hiding from her and then popping into the picture!
