Long time gone

HOWDY!  Things have been hectic here lately so I'll do a in the moment post and not worry about the past few weeks!

This past weekend was Rhythm and Roots, my favorite weekend of the year here because it is music galore!  As typical we participated in the 5k (walk, due to some shin issues)

Then we spent the rest of our weekend at the festival.

My favorite band there was Shovels and Rope!  LOVE LOVE LOVE them!

I also made a new favorite, Blitzen Trapper!  (No pictures, but I did listen to them twice!)

Emma is still the potty queen, she's doing great and I'm so proud!

We leave for Disney in TWO weeks!  So excited!

Emma will be 3 oh so very soon! I can NOT believe it!

I will be 35 oh so very soon! I am in DENIAL!

I guess that wraps up most of it, the rest is pretty boring!

35 months

At 35 months I can officially say you are potty trained (I least you weren't 3 or 4 years!)  You love playing outside and of course you love Puggles.  We have put a halt to gymnastics for a little bit. You say "regular" and "thermometer" so funny.  We have less than a month before DISNEY and I'm so excited.

Weekend

This weekend we had four adults and a 2, 4, and 7 year old all under our tiny roof.  Justin's cousin and family ventured in from Charlotte.  The kids had a great time playing (and crying)  We had a get together with all of the in town cousins in Justin's family.  There were about 11 kids total that spent hours in the yard just running WILD!  I think a good time was had by all!

Today Emma and I drove up the interstate a bit to celebrate Colt's birthday.  Colt and Emma were belly buddies in that his mom and I were pregnant at the same time while we were working together.  Colt was born in September and Emma almost a month later.  They were both over 9 pounds and had quite a fondness for each other that is until they turned three....

Labor Day

I guess the biggest thing to post about is that Emma has been using the potty (for both reasons) since Tuesday and has stayed dry at school (and home) ever since.  She even tackled public restrooms all weekend.  It has totally been her. We rewarded and encouraged but she has been the one to say she had to go and go.  Makes the melts downs all summer seem so silly!  Today she wanted to wear panties so she has except for nap.  I have kept her in pull-ups as a just in case but she has really handled it like a pro!  So if anyone asks me for advice I will tell them, to just talk about it and practice but there may come a time when you may just have to wait for them to make that step.
