Halloween costume 2012

I'm not sure what time I'll be able to sit down and do a blog tomorrow, so I'm going to load the pictures of Emma in her costume I took last week (when it was 70 degrees and NOT snowing.) At this point I don't know if we will even go trick or treating!

I hope where you are it's a (as Emma would say) "pooky" Halloween!

Snow Day

Today was our first snow day (cringe) I hope we don't have many of these.  I enjoy long summers!  Oh well, par for the course.

1. Look back 5 years ago. Is your life what you thought it would be? Why?

It is.  I have Emma, I have my Graduate Degree.  The only thing missing is a counseling job!

2. Which cartoon makes you want to go on a shooting spree?

I have to say Minnie Mouse Bowtique.  It looks like the coolest store and who doesn't need a bow for all occasions!

3. What was your favorite vacation?


This past year so was much fun taking Emma to the beach.  She knew more about it and started to enjoy it. 

4. Where is your DREAM vacation spot?
My DREAM now is Hawaii.  I can't wait to go one day!  Previously would be Ireland, but I did that in college!

5. Pumpkin or sweet potato? Dressing or stuffing?
Sweet potato, I love everything SP related right now!  Dressing, my mom makes the best!

6. Favorite subject in high school/ college?
I loved my English literature classes in high school and college. I also loved my special education classes in college too.

7. What is your favorite app?
Instagram.  I love seeing pictures of friends and I love some of the random things I follow that post funny lol pictures.

8. Which cartoon character would you like to meet in real life? What would you say to them?
All of the Bubble Guppies. I would ask why they drink out of cups, they are underwater!

9. If you could jump into a movie, which one would you pick?
Pride and Prejudice (with Colin Firth) I would so be Elizabeth Bennett!

10. Are you into college sports? Which team?
We watch a lot of college football, My favorite team is VA Tech. I grew up going to Tech games with a dear friend and her parents and that time holds a special place in my heart and that is the only team I have supported.

11. What is your favorite ice cream flavor?
Cookies and cream or turtle tracks!

Halloween Party

Saturday evening we loaded up and headed out to a party with some friends.  This was the first time that Emma and Noah have really noticed each other and play together (Noah is 20 months old) So it was fun to see them start to interact.  Here are the only pictures from the night.

Emma loved the trampoline.  I think we have a Christmas present idea!!

The Great Elmo Pumpkin

We carved a pumpkin Friday night.  We decided on Elmo because Emma loves Elmo! I thought I was super cool buying a book with the design in it, but we had gutted the pumpkin before I figured out the design was way big compared to the pumpkin.  Thanks to Google, I found another template (easier I think!) and we got to work.  Justin helped gut and Emma, well, she just helped!  I'm pretty proud of how well it turned out!

Ghosts of Costumes Past.

So Kelly's Korner is doing a link up that I could join in on.

Let me start this by saying, I hate dressing up for Halloween.  I cried as a child and I generally disliked people being dressed up (strange phobia, but it is legit!)

 A few years ago some friends talked me into dressing up.  I was Kat Von D (back when she was somewhat "normal") So here I am with blonde extensions and hand drawn (Sharpie) tattoos (I even had the stars on my face in eyeliner.)  The tattoos were crazy and someone actually asked me if they were real.  WAAAHAAA) It was fun times, and it took FOREVER to get all the ink off!  I was trying to look mean in the last picture.  Cracks me up!


Alright, let's fast forward to 2010.  Emma's first Halloween, she was only a few weeks old and she continued the trend by her mother and HATED being in her costume.  It was just a simple ladybug.  This is the only picture I found that she wasn't completely blood red and screaming! 

Last year (2011) Emma was a strawberry!  She was almost ready to walk and was hard to catch upright so here she is with her pretty monogrammed pumpkin I made for her! She looks so small and squishy here!!!I I love Old Navy costumes, they are fleece and it tends to be chilly here on Halloween!! Plus we used the fleece pants all winter for around the house on cold days!

This year Emma is going to be an owl, but I'll wait until Halloween to post those pictures!

Puggles

Emma has started AWANAS.  They can start at 2 and their class/group is called Puggles.  Emma started going but then was sick and we were on her birthday adventure but finally she earned her "uniform."  I thought I better document it so I won't forget!!

Her shirt is a size 6t, needless to say it is HUGE, of course where she started going late and missed, she got the last of the shirts so her size selection was nada.  (That's ok, I found a smaller size on Ebay and bought it!) 

She spent the afternoon chanting "No Puggles" and when we picked her up we heard "I like Puggles"  what a silly girl!

Mom had given me this dress a few months ago.  It was mine and I have NO clue when I ever wore it.  Emma was in a cooperative mood so we went up to the back yard and snapped a few pictures.
