Brusha Brusha Brusha

Today was dentist day.  I had my 6 month check up and so Emma came along as well.  I'm pretty lucky in that my sister-in-law is my hygienist and we have been getting Emma use to the office and the routine.  She went a few months ago with her dad and played with the dinosaur and giant toothbrush and Barbara brushed her teeth the normal way.  Today she reluctantly sat on my lap but then opened her mouth to have her teeth counted and polished.  She even loved the suction straw.  I was so proud of her that no tears were shed and she wasn't scared.

Saying Goodbye

As I posted before the whole of last week had been exhausting.  Justin was pretty much sick and out of commission the entire week.  We were on standby for Justin's Papa Bill.  Luckily we were able to take Emma to see him Tuesday while he was still responsive.  They waved and blew each other kisses.  Sweetest memory ever, I cry every time I think of it!

Friday morning Justin called me and I left work swiftly to get him out to the hospital.  His grandfather passed away shortly after.  So our weekend was spent doing the typical family/funeral things. 

To top all of it off this morning I went to get into my car and my battery was DOA.  Car would not start at all.  Then on the way to the funeral I was pulled over and earned a ticket from a police office who didn't have the compassion to let us go after we told him where we were going and what the circumstances was.  I don't respect people who don't have a kind heart...

Hugs and Kisses

 

I will briefly fill you in on my life this week.  Justin has been so sick.  Went to the doctor Monday with a fever and was told it was a cold, went back Wednesday and was told it was pneumonia! Tonight is the first night I have been home before 8 o'clock.  We got a phone call Tuesday night that Justin's grandfather is extremely ill and is not expected to recover.  

So to sum it up, I'm exhausted!

Catching up

I'm not really exciting.  We had another snow day on Monday.  Tuesday we finally got back to work and the week went pretty quick and the kids were mostly behaved!

Friday afternoon Emma has a quick photo shoot for Valentine's day and then I loaded up and went to South Carolina all by myself!  It was my first solo trip since sometime in 2010. I only did an over night trip and it was nice.  I didn't have to worry about anyone waking up and I didn't have to try to entertain Emma at a house that wasn't ours! 
Ashley and I went for a nice walk and ran just a tad bit.  Then we stopped for some Starbucks.  We went to my new favorite foodie place, Chipotle.  We then shopped at some of my favorite places, REI, Loft, Utla, and Carter's before stopping at the zoo to see the baby giraffe!  It was a nice quick trip, but I missed my girl and I was happy to get home last night and see her!

Speaking of Emma today is her 28th monthday!!!

Super snowy Super Bowl Sunday

February

We are snowed in AGAIN.  This was suppose to be a light snow and we are up a few inches at this point.  We still plan to have company over for the Super Bowl tomorrow night, so I let Emma put on her apron and "help."  She didn't last long, Cool Whip is much more tempting!

Here are some catch up pictures of Emma from the past week or so. 

The top picture we were watching my youngest nephew at a basketball tournament they played in.  The next is E all ready for church last Sunday and the last one is her loving on her Sofia doll!

Flooding, snow, and sniffles!

In the past week I have worked only three days.  Last Thursday I was feeling bad so I stayed home. Friday it iced/snowed and we were stuck in for a day.  This week we had major flooding and we were out yesterday and last night it snowed and we are closed again!

I love snowdays, but I love my summer more!  Both days of my break Emma has wanted to go to school so I have spent the time relaxing and reading.  I feel bad that I haven't been more motivated to clean, but these days are rare!  I finished up this book yesterday...


That was the second book in the Caster Chronicles.  I have started on the third book.  They are okay, the story is interesting, but I am always waiting for another bad thing to happen. 

The movie for the first book "Beautiful Creatures" will be in theaters February 14th. I have swindled my friend into reading it so we can go see the movie!!

I have a few pictures of Em on my phone but I haven't loaded them on photobucket, so I will try to post them later.

I'm off to be somewhat productive before I pick Emma up from school!
