Commenting Challenge, Last Day!

Last day of Jenna's challenge. I am pretty proud I actually stuck with it.  Who knows maybe with a few new readers I will continue to put it out there and maybe some of you can help me out!

My Dream vacation would be Hawaii.  Everyone in my family has been there but me!  It's a cliche place but the pictures and the tales make it sound like a fantastic place to go!  I would love to take Emma in a few years when she will be able to travel better.

Speaking of Emma and traveling.  She and I are going to attempt to go to Hilton Head Island.  The plan is to leave here and drive to Greenville, SC for the night and get up early and hopefully miss traffic enough to make the trip in the true 4 hours.  This will be our first long trip.  Emma and I have made it to Greenville for a weekend with about 70% success.  The drive home was rough when she woke up at the bottom of the mountain (yes, that's how we measure it!) and cried the rest of the way home.  Any survival hits on how to best travel with a 20 month old?!  Are DVD players a way to help or do they end up adding to the problem?!

Here's our morning in two photos. The first is Emma sitting and sipping some milk while I make her oatmeal.  The second is the top of the dam where I walk everyday.  It was miserable hot at 8:30 this morning, but Emma and I did well!

  1. Thank you for commenting on my post!

Yes, someday you WILL enjoy Hawaii! This will be my husband's third trip there, and he always had a miserable time when he went in the past. I keep on telling him it's because he went without me, haha!

I have vacationed in Hilton Head many, many times! And, I've already told my husband we're buying a retirement home there someday! It is such a relaxing place! I hope y'all go and have fun!

    Blessings!

  2. We went to Hawaii for our honeymoon and loved it! I was just telling my husband this evening that we should go back... without the kids!

  3. We never travel more than an hour without the DVD player! Sometimes, there are still problems, but I'd say 90% of the time it has helped keep my Emma entertained! We, also, have a LeapPad and Emma plays games on it in the car. Your Emma might still be too little for that, though. We do coloring book, books, anything we can think of! Travel time is FULL on KEEP HER HAPPY mode!
