Marching into something

Hello March! This weekend we celebrated birthdays and a warm up.  The snow isn't close to being gone, but it's slowly disappearing!

This was the view out of my bathroom window.  I reached out and grabbed one and that sucker was HUGE!
Sorry about the toilet shot, but that was the only way to fit the icicle in!

Emma stayed with my MIL Friday night then came home long enough to nap before going up to hang with mom and dad for a few hours.  When we went to pick her up she serenaded us.

My youngest nephew turned 13 today!  We celebrated last night and I ran out on my lunch break and got him Chick-fil-a!  I mean I am the coolest aunt EVER!!
He had a pick of any cake for his mom to make and he picked a dump cake!
Emma loves her Gie-Gie
G and his cousin (both sides minus my oldest nephew)
He wanted money for a PS4 so that was a majority of his gifts (other than this gun and a new baseball glove!)

The LAST snow day!

I'm being hopeful here people!!  Students will officially be out of school two weeks.  Nine of the days due to snow the other one a workday!  I actually go to work tomorrow regardless!!!!  Today Justin's co-worker brought his daughter over and the girls played in the snow.  It was actually warm enough to enjoy being outside without freezing!

SUNDAY=Freedom!

Okay so I left our hill Friday, but Saturday we got POUNDED again.  I'm talking called for three inches ended up doubling it on top of the six-ish we already had!  The driveway was/is a mess.  Justin was feeling bad but drove us to church.  The church had a water pipe burst and half of the ceiling was covered over plastic out in the entryway and there were fans everywhere!  After church we were homebound the rest of the day and I found out my school system was closed again.

Yesterday, Emma woke up with a crazy red cheek but no other symptoms.  At bath time she was completely covered on her arms and legs! It was wild.  No fever or anything.  I called her doctor and he seemed to think it was a viral rash.  Today she was still rashy on her arms and legs but her face has toned down a lot.  I'm guessing she has fifths because she was around NO ONE other than me and J last week (we didn't leave the house!) Since she was still fever free she was able to head back to school this morning.

Emma's big into drawing and "spelling" I thought she did pretty awesome on her flower picture!

She drew this for her new cousin, Abigail, She drew the baby with clothes and without, some hearts some of her "spellings" She also wrote "I love you"

Knox stared at me like this forever yesterday. He looked like a grumpy old man!

Week 8

Our snow covered porch was warmer (and safer) than the driveway!

I used my time today to run by school and check my calendar to make sure there wasn't any IEPs that I needed to schedule. I ran to Target, Old Navy, and then grabbed some lunch before picking up Emma from daycare early.  We rushed home for a nap and then headed to my hair appointment!

Here comes another post about.....

SNOW!
It's Thursday, I still haven't left the house!  Yesterday, while the cold winds blew, we enjoyed a few more runs down the hill and Emma took a turn on her swing set!  Bryce, my nephew, joined us for the fun.

Awesome shot of the no temperature degree day we started with!!!! haha

This cracks me up.  I bought this for Emma when she was little and totally ordered the wrong size.  It's still a little big, but I thought today she could wear it around.

Snow daze

I haven't worked this week.  I haven't left the house since Sunday for church! Monday at 12 the snow started.  We ended up with an accumulation of 6 inches at our house by Tuesday morning.
Luckily, we live on a main road so our road was scraped and has been kept clean since Tuesday morning.  We are expecting a few more showers today and bitter cold tomorrow! We took the time to enjoy some outside time.  Justin attempted to clean off our long driveway BUT that was going to be way too much so our neighbor used his 4-wheeler and a plow to get us enough clearing to put some salt down and get traction.

Her face on these, crack me up!

The sun was super painful!

Hugs and Kisses

A pretty uneventful week leading up to Valentine's Day.  We had Cubbies and school parties to plan for. I ended up on a delay Friday due to the super cold weather.  It was a crazy school day going in late and having a dance start at 1:30.  Makes for a super fast workday!
Justin picked up a lotto ticket and we won $7.  I told my students I had won and shared all my winnings with them (I had bought $8 worth of suckers for them!)
Our picture collage for this week was I love you! It was fun trying to watch her figure out all the motions!
Emma has crazy hair to deal with.  So I found a heart design that I could actually do from www.babesinhairland.com and it looked pretty cute and survived the day (sorta!) She had a great time at her party and we dumped her cards and goodies out in the floor and I let her eat away! It was fun until she crashed and became grumpy pants!
Justin and I saved up our pharmacy rewards and gift cards from Target to get Emma (and AG dolls) a wardrobe.  It is perfect and holds all the clothes we have for the dolls!  That was her Valentine's treat (along with some cary and Chip and Dale Rescue Rangers DVD.)
Emma actually wanted to give us kisses for pictures!

Saturday Morning we headed to Chuck E Cheese for a birthday party.  It was super early so we didn't have to fight the crowds right off, but by the time we were finishing up it was too much for my nerves!! The kids had a great time and that was the most important part!
We had a nasty wind come through and it knocked down the temperatures and brought some snow.  This morning it was -9 when we were getting ready for church. Luckily most of the snow/ice had started to melt off the roads (thanks VDOT salt!) so after church my mom and dad took us out for lunch for Valentine's Day.  Emma loved the soup and I really think she would have had two or three bowls of it if we would have let her!
She insists on wearing every bit  of jewelry she has on Sundays.  Today's count was two rings, and six bracelets a necklace and a watch.
Week 7

The brightness of the snow/sun and the wind was too much for her when we got home.
