22

22 more days until summer break!  I'm so excited.  Things are crazy at work.  IEPs are almost finished, my evaluation is almost ready to be submitted and there is a TON of testing coming up after next week.  The mad dash to the end is always the most crazy part of the year.  I'm just excited to be finished with school by the first of June.  Woe is me, woe is me! OH, guess who is on abx again!?!?  That's right Emma.  This time is it bacteria in her nose and the start of something in her ears.  I can't wait to get her out of day care for a couple of months just so we can hopefully stay out of the doctor's office too!  I know she will miss school so much, but I couldn't justify paying for her to go when I'm at home!

30 months

So at about midnight on April 12th, I realized we had been so crazy that I didn't take Emma's monthday picture.  So I went ahead and waited until the weekend.  So here in all it's glory is Emma at 30 months!

She's sweet, sassy, and a whole lot of bossy.  She is constantly trying her limited and then loving on you. She loves singing, Jesus loves me, The Whole World, Rock a bye Baby, Deep and Wide, and so many others.  She like to do her own remixes of the songs and put them together and all kinds of fun stuff!  She is an absolute hoot!

Well. Hello there!

Missed me!?!?  Didn't think so!  We have been enjoying everything great about spring! Warm weather, and allergies!  I love the green of spring, it is my absolute favorite!  The days get longer and time seems to open up for so much more to do!  We have spent a lot of time sliding and just playing outside!  Here's a few pictures just so this post won't be so boring!

Worth reading!

So Jenna at Jenna's Journey likes to read young adult novels.  I do too, but I know she will never venture to my wimpy blog, BUT I'm going to share some series I have been reading and share incase you may want to give them a try.

First off is The Wolves of Mercy Falls series, it involves werewolves and teenage love.  I had a friend that didn't care for the story as much as I did.  It's a nice break from the Twilight daze many of us have been in...

The next series, I just finished book one.  I really liked the flow of the book. Reminded me of a Hunger Games, Divergent kind of read (futuristic with a young girl ready to stick it to the leaders!) If you read the first book, Birthmarked there is a companion quick read that is free for Kindle to tie up some ends on Leon.

Let me know if you have read these and what you think.  Also, if you have any other suggestions fire away!

Easter 2013

Emma loaded up on books, stickers, and chalk in this year's basket!

All dressed up.  Emma has a double ear infection and had a rough day and night, we decided it would be best to stay home from church.  We dressed up anyway for a few pictures.

We headed up to my mom's to get a family shot.
Plus we got to hang out with these two handsome fellas!

Happy Easter!

"Tie" dyed eggs

Today was our 2nd annual tie dye Easter egg adventure.

What you need

100% silk ties (Goodwill and Salvation Army, our choice)
A thin sheet (I usually get a sheet from the above places to cut up)
Eggs
1/4 c. vinegar
bread ties or floral wire

Cut the ties open and remove the inside form and the silk end pieces
Wrap the egg with the design side touching the egg and tie tightly with wire
Then cover again with piece of sheet
Bring eggs to a boil and let sit for 20 minutes
Remove from water allow to cool and then unwrap the surprise!

Here's the snapshots from my phone:

Here are the ties with the insides out and ready to use.  Our selection wasn't that great this year, we need to start collecting them earlier.  The brighter and bolder the design the better. The second from the left and the brown tie in the middle were the least favorite of the group.  The brown one is the ugly mustard color you will see below.  You just have to take a chance and see what you get!

All ready to go into the water!
Tada!
This is from a maroon tie
A red tie
This one was from a crazy spotted tie that all the colors looked alike, it made a cool design.
This is from an awful tie that had birds and sky on it.  We planned it out for the bird's face to transfer and it worked and turned out pretty cool!

We usually get two eggs out of a tie, if you have the eggs and time you can try to get three!

The original blog I got the idea and information from.
