29 Months

Every month I think how fast it is all going!

Emma had a good first night in her 'big girl bed' as she calls it.  She actually slept in there most of the night (she usually gets in bed with us in the middle of the night)  She is super proud and excited and I hope this will help with the potty training issues we are having.   Today is her monthday!  I swear she will have them until she tells me to stop!!! 

Today was a beautiful day.  Yes we still have Christmas lights up.  The weather has been so bad and Justin couldn't borrow a ladder!!! 

Just a bunch of STUFF

Recap of my oh so exciting week.  I worked, had a snow day on Wednesday, finished the week off.  See are you not happy I entertained you for that spill!

Going back to Sunday, Steven Martin was awesome.  You can see him sorta glowing in a red suit!  We had great seats and my face hurt from smiling so much.  The walk across Virginia Tech's campus ranks up there with one of the coldest moments of my life. It was so worth it.... until we had to walk back to the car!

The rest of the week, I just survived!  Having a day off helped some!  I took Emma to see my grandmother, Mamaw Kat.

Then Emma decided to love on me until her daddy got home.

After seeing the CUTE shorts a blogger pal got for her little girl I had to run to the Children's Place to find Emma a pair or two!  She actually let me take her in the dressing room and try them on.  I also bought her a dress, and a bathing suit.  Thanks Shawna! While there we ate at Justin's favorite pizza place and grabbed a cupcake for dessert

As you can tell both were a hit!

This morning we did some coloring.  Emma's skills are not up to Sarah's standards but she's working on it!

Today we have been to gymnastics class, where Emma was W-I-L-D!  The teacher was like, who is this child.  I was in shock!  We grabbed lunch and now Emma is fast asleep in her big girl bed.  I decided on a whim to get it out of the basement and see how it goes!

Yes she has a pillow with a GIANT picture of her on it.  It was really cheap last year and I thought it was super cute.  I'm going to save it until she is bigger and send her on trips with it!!! waahaaaaa!!!

It is sunny and warmish here today, I hope it's not to nasty where you are!!!  Don't forget to "spring" forward!

Sunday Sunday

Happy Sunday!  We are watching unannounced snowflakes fall while playing with princess dolls (she is currently feeding them and her dad some plastic veggies.)

Just a quick wrap of the weekend.  Friday night we celebrated my nephew's birthday.  I can't believe he is 11.  He asked for money so I froze his loot in a block of ice.  It was fun stuff I tell you!!! Emma enjoyed just playing around with all the kids there.

Tonight I'm heading to Blacksburg to see Steve Martin and The Steep Canyon Rangers.  I'm pretty excited and hope that the weather behaves until we get back!!! 

Read Across America Day

Today every school system is celebrating Reading.  It's also the day before that Seuss guy's birthday!
Being the dorky teacher I am, Emma had to join in!

It is also the beginning of March.  I LOVE March because of St Patrick's Day!  I mean I have been to Ireland and I have an apostrophe in my name.  I love it all!!!

Yesterday, My oldest nephew called my phone while I was at a meeting after school and my youngest answered it and he told me "Leighton said they have shamrock shakes at McD's" Being the sucker for Garett's big brown eyes I ended up with......

I had two happy kids on my hands (and no milkshake in my belly!)

OMG OMG OMG OMG!

We just had an offer/invitation for a trip to Disney!  I am so excited, we hadn't really planned to take Emma until she was a little older, but when you get an offer you can't refuse you take it!

Looks like we will be taking Emma in October during the week of her 3rd birthday!

So my consistent bloggy friends, what would be most appropriate to do for a child Emma's age?

Saturday Morning and Safe Haven

I so LOVED Lexi, the little girl in the movie.  Hands down she stole the show and my heart!  I really enjoyed the movie, I had read the book but I have since then forgotten most of the details.  I couldn't remember the ending so that kept me on the edge of my seat, holding my breath that it wasn't who I was afraid it would be!   The only thing I disliked about it was Josh Duhamel's hair.  For some reason it drove me CRAZY!


This morning Emma has been following me around while I tried to do some cleaning up.  She decided this was a lovely outfit to wear around the house and then she chased Knox around trying to dress him.

Let's get this weekend started

Emma and I are flying solo until tomorrow night.  No big plans just going to hang out. Well, I am ditching Emma to go watch "Safe Haven" tonight with some friends.  Today when I went to pick Emma up from school she was getting ready to finger paint.  She informed me that she was not leaving until she painted.  Three masterpieces later she was ready to go!
