Happy 21 months to my sweet E. She is a ball of fun and emotions! Today we went shopping and when we came home she brought me her Elmo pjs and insisted I put them on her. At least she didn't feel the need to demand to wear them shopping!
She has an ever expanding vocabulary and is putting short sentences together! She loves pickles and strawberries, and of course being the water. If there is a pool or ocean in sight, she is ready to "put suit on?" Emma is a funny girl, she likes doing silly things and making us laugh and of course she loves laughing as us!!!
My mom took my picture the 18th of every month. I have done the same for Em. I started taking a weekly picture and then stuck with just months. So on the 10th of every month there is a dated picture taken. Since tomorrow is her 21st monthday and I was such a slacker for all this time I will load all of the 20 other pictures! Yes, bear with me, that is a lot of photos for one post....
This is the song I sang to Emma every time we were in the car (while pregnant making many trips to graduate school classes!)
This week is the beginning of the end. I have three days of inservice and Target's weekly ad had those nasty school supplies listed. I may cry when I go to the store and see the school supplies on display. I have enjoyed my time with Em so much! We have spent most of our mornings going for a walk. We took our first girls only road trip.
This morning we have enjoyed the cooler temperatures and played outside before it could, maybe, possibly rain (or not!) Anyway, enough chatter here's my cutie!
Breakfast was not the usual oatmeal instead banana and cereal bar!
I have always wanted to do this and all Em asks for is a snack so that was her thought bubble for the time. Having her on her back and smile was impossible! So the thought bubble idea had to be changed. Ha, it makes me giggle!
Em spent some time telling me to draw so she could carry the chalk around and rearrange it in the containers.
Then we got fancy and took a self portrait. Which is cool, especially when I'm all sweaty looking and disheveled! haahaa! BUT when your toddler is willing to look at the camera and say cheese, "you take the good, you take the bad and there you got (sing it with me) the facts of life!"
I'm going to try to add a video everyday of a song I like. This is my favorite Tracy Chapman song. "The Promise" Enjoy!
This morning we started the day with Erika running in The Firecracker 5k. It was fun to watch and Em would yell "Go Gika".
After that we headed to the beach and waited for the fly over. It was
pretty cool to stand at the shore in our red, white, and blue and wave a
flag as they passed.
We had dinner with Erika's parent's house and hiked down to Harbor Town to the fireworks! Emma enjoyed them! It was a lovely time and a great memory! We even had patriotic toes to match!
What a crazy past couple of days! Saturday was J's grandfather's birthday so we had a cookout. Em enjoyed playing with her cousin Ava.
Saturday night we put arm floats on Em and she loved it. I have another
water baby this year. On Sunday Em and I left for Greenville. I used a DVD player and it was so
worth it. Em slept for awhile but there were no screaming fits! After
eating at Chipotle, Ash and I took Em to a park to let her play, she
enjoyed herself in some gale force winds!
Monday bright and early we hit the road for HHI. It was another nice drive I stopped outside of Columbia to let Em walk for a bit. We made it to Erika's by 11 had lunch at Signe's and then hit the beach!
Today is packing day and I'm on the couch wishing for a nap! Emma and I are loading up tomorrow afternoon to hit the road and visit HHI for the 4th! It has been a long standing tradition.
My college roommate lives in HHI and pre-baby loved traveling down and relaxing. I know things are going to be a little different and less relaxing, but it is a tradition I would like to continue and make special for E. Wish us luck!
