Today is packing day and I'm on the couch wishing for a nap! Emma and I are loading up tomorrow afternoon to hit the road and visit HHI for the 4th! It has been a long standing tradition.
My college roommate lives in HHI and pre-baby loved traveling down and relaxing. I know things are going to be a little different and less relaxing, but it is a tradition I would like to continue and make special for E. Wish us luck!

Commenting Challenge, Last Day!
Last day of Jenna's challenge. I am pretty proud I actually stuck with it. Who knows maybe with a few new readers I will continue to put it out there and maybe some of you can help me out!
My Dream vacation would be Hawaii. Everyone in my family has been there but me! It's a cliche place but the pictures and the tales make it sound like a fantastic place to go! I would love to take Emma in a few years when she will be able to travel better.
Speaking of Emma and traveling. She and I are going to attempt to go to Hilton Head Island. The plan is to leave here and drive to Greenville, SC for the night and get up early and hopefully miss traffic enough to make the trip in the true 4 hours. This will be our first long trip. Emma and I have made it to Greenville for a weekend with about 70% success. The drive home was rough when she woke up at the bottom of the mountain (yes, that's how we measure it!) and cried the rest of the way home. Any survival hits on how to best travel with a 20 month old?! Are DVD players a way to help or do they end up adding to the problem?!
Here's our morning in two photos. The first is Emma sitting and sipping some milk while I make her oatmeal. The second is the top of the dam where I walk everyday. It was miserable hot at 8:30 this morning, but Emma and I did well!

Commenting Challenge Day 4...Hobbies
If I had to say my number one hobby it would be reading. Before I had E I spent everyday reading (only a small hiatus while in Graduate school, because that reading was not fun!)
I enjoy reading a lot of Young Adult novels because I work with middle school children and I like to have books to recommend or to talk to them about. I also love the Sookie Stackhouse novels, they are so silly that once I started I had to keep going. As long as it is interesting I will read it.
I love to travel. I have friends from college that I visit often (not as much since E is still little) I will hop in the car and drive the 6 hours to Hilton Head Island for a long weekend or I will do the same for a regular weekend to Greenville. Greenville, SC has to be may favorite city of all time. (Yes, even over NYC)
In college I would travel all over and follow a few bands. Guster and Roger Clyne and the Peacemakers being my favorite. I love music and try to expose Emma to different types of music. I like to listen to "new grass" and artists that are not in the main stream. Mumford and Sons is doing a stop over day long festival in my town in August and I'm super excited to see a group that usually wouldn't stop in such a small town.
I could go on and on about this topic but Emma would rather go to the pool! Maybe if I remain a good blogger I can share a song a day or so!
We had a stay at home and in our pjs or walking clothes kind of day yesterday.

Commenting Challenge Day 3.
I noticed I needed to do a fancy link so I'm going to try. I'm participating in Jenna's Journey blog commenting challenge. So far I have one new follower. That means of the 6 total followers I now have one that reads the blog ha!
Social media, I'm a junkie. I use Facebook constantly to keep up with friends all over the place. I love to use it to show off Emma's latest picture of the day. (yes, I'm out of control!) I follow a lot of pages on Facebook that I order cute outfits for E on.
I have a twitter, I use it to rant because only a few people follow me on that. I do enjoy twitter to read silly things and I keep up with some sports things for my husband.
Instagram is my favorite. I like having a spot where I don't have to say anything, but I can just take pictures of Emma and random things!
I'm a crazy, mad pinner. I have a ton of pins and I actually have done a handful of them. The recipes are my favorite and I like trying new things out to make my husband and parents try!
The websites I go to everyday is Zulily, Totsy, Jenna's, Kelly's and my county website to check my school mail.
It's amazing the things you can catch up on in the hour Sesame Street is on!

Commenting Challenge Day Deux !
Take 2 (Blogger is not my friend today!)
My inspiration for my blog came from Jenna's Journey and Kelly's Korner. I can't remember how I ended up on their blogs but I have followed them for over three years. I thought maybe people out there would find my life interesting. I'm not very good at keeping up with a blog.
I did posts about my nephews, my miscarriages, and some of Emma's beginnings and then dropped off. I would like to continue posting about those things for family and new friends.
My journey with my miscarriages was so lonely, no one could relate to me and at times when people could what they had to say was not helpful at all. I spent the 9 months of my pregnancy with Emma in a state of constant worry. Everyday I was fearful of what could go wrong and it was hard to be excited until she arrived. After she was born I spent even more time worrying about everything and praying that I would do things right! So far so good!
Here's a shot of Emma in her too small bathing suit (HAAHAA) from yesterday. My parents have had a pool since I was a little bit and I love having a place for Emma to play in the water if only for a few minutes each day.
I take 1001 pictures of this child everyday. At least she can relive her childhood over and over through pictures!

Third Annual Commenting Challenge Day 1
Hi, I'm Tonya.
I'm from Virginia.
My household consists of myself, my husband, Justin, my daughter, Emma, and Knox the dog. I am a special education teacher getting ready to start my 9th year at the middle school I attended.
I'm not a very good blogger, but I decided to give it that old college try. Maybe it will be interesting, maybe not.
